Rapid City, SD The holidays will be here before you know it and that means local non-profit agencies are getting ready for their seasonal giving campaigns.
Both the Salvation Army and Feeding South Dakota are gearing up for their Turkey Drives to make sure families have a good meal on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
$20 dollars donated to Feeding South Dakota will provide a full Thanksgiving meal to a family in need and The Salvation Army's Turkey Round Up begins on November 18th.
Major Nathan Johnson, Slavation Army says, "We're dependand upon the generosity of others to make Christmas and social services happen througthout the year and so when people volunteer and people give, that just means that people in the community have a good Chirstmas season."
Debbie Renner, Feeding South Dakota says, " This is a time when people focus their energy on onther people and they recognize the need and it is also a time too, brofe tax season where people are looking at what they want to give."
Feeding South Dakota is also promoting Giving Day on the 28th where they will receive a matching donation of up to 20-thousand dollars and The Salvation Army is currently hosting their toy drive signups for families with children under 12 who are in need.
