The students at Grandview Elementary got an up close and hands on look at the latest surgical technology Tuesday.
This is the da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
It allows surgeons to perform delicate operations through smaller incisions, being less invasive.
The students got a look at the new system and
Some even got the chance to sit down at the controls and give it a try.
Dr. David Fromm says, "We're here to shows kids it's an advanced technology. And all the things that go into it., all the science behind it, and all the steps that are important to accomplish a career later on. And we thought this is really cool."
Regional Health currently has the da Vinci Si Surgical System.
A da Vinci representative said they performed 137 procedures with it here last year.
