A former Pennington County Jail medical staff assistant is accused of having sexual contact with a jail inmate.
38-year old Kimberly Johnson of Rapid City pleaded not guilty to that charge in Seventh Circuit Court Friday morning.

Court documents say letters and phone calls between Johnson and an inmate were discovered.
The law enforcement report says Johnson admitted to investigators that the inmate touched her sexually, outside of her clothing, while she was working at the jail last September.
Johnson faces up to two years in prison if she's convicted.
She's set for another status hearing on February 16th.
