Elementary students bring socks and stories to seniors

A few students from the Spirit Club at Canyon Lake Elementary began gathering socks a couple of weeks ago and made their way to the senior center Wednesday afternoon to drop them off. Brightening up the days of their elders is what the students say they hope to do as they read them books and even left them with a little tune.

Ayva Donnelly, a student from Canyon Lake Elementary, says "We brought a pair of socks, they like these fuzzy ones. We brought the socks to because their feet get cold and we are reading books because some of these people don't have family to come visit them and it makes me feel good to see the smiles on their faces and to hear them laugh when you are reading."

This is the second year the students have made a trip to Clarkson Health Care and they say it's something they hope to do each year.
