Dumpster nap ends with trip to hospital

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN TV) - Taking a nap in a dumpster isn’t a smart move anytime; but during pickups … it could be deadly.

Early Saturday morning, a sanitation company worker making his rounds picked up a dumpster on New York Street.

As the worker began to compact the trash while driving to his next stop he heard screaming from the rear of his truck. When he stopped, a man climbed out of the back of the garbage truck and ran off.

The man -- whose name was not released -- turned up, covered in garbage, at the Cornerstone Rescue Mission on Main Street.

He was taken to Regional Hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
