Drivers go against tough driving conditions as snow and wind crank up Wednesday

By  |

Wednesday's snow and strong winds created slick roads across the area, including on Interstate 90.

All of the video you see was taken Wednesday morning between Wall and New Underwood. Heavy bands of snow reduced visibility to a quarter of a mile at points along this stretch. Snowplows were out in full force, but the strong winds, resulting in blowing snow has been an issue throughout the day. Some truck drivers even decided to wait the snow out to avoid being on the slick roads. In addition to the blowing snow, the strong winds produced wind chill values near zero. Our reporter saw one semi and one pickup truck that slid off the road in that stretch.
