Denny's does its part to recognize servicemen and women

In observance of Veterans Day Saturday, Denny's offered a free meal to active and past servicemen and women Friday.

Denny's currently has over 1700 restaurants operating through the United States and in several other countries. Participating restaurants, including the one on LaCrosse Street in Rapid City did their part to recognize those who have served our country. From 5 a.m. until noon Friday, a valid military ID meant that individual could enjoy a Build Your Own Grand Slam totally free of charge.

Denny's General Manager Aaron Hernandez says, "We appreciate all active duty military service and veterans to come in and have a free meal on us one day a year to show our appreciation as a company, and as me as a general manager, and as all of our employees working hard to make sure we try to give you the best service to show our appreciation to all veterans."

Denny's was a busy place throughout the morning, and there will be other restaurants around Rapid City doing the same thing Saturday.
