This is National Health Care Week and this year the theme is Celebrating America's Health Centers: Innovators in Community Health.

They were celebrating that idea Tuesday at the Community Health Center of the Black Hills here in Rapid City.
They moved into their new building last year and are busy.
They say they serve about 14,000 patients a year and those patients come from a 150-mile radius.

Community Health Center of the Black Hills CEO Tim Trithart says, "What they say is if You've seen one community health center, you've seen one community health center. Every community health center is kind of designed for the specific needs of their region. We see a strong need for basic primary medical care. Dental care is a huge need within our region, for affordable dental care. We see a growing need for mental health care in our region. So all three of those things are things we need within the Black Hills."

Trithart says one of the main misconceptions about the center is that you have to qualify to be seen there.
He says everyone can come and there is a sliding fee scale depending on your income.
