Some Central High School students took a stroll down memory lane Friday, as they walked the halls of Rapid Valley Elementary.
The elementary school had a 'senior walk,' welcoming graduates to their halls filled with kids high-fiving and cheering for seniors preparing to take the next step in their lives.
It's part of an effort to inspire success in the younger generations.
Cher Daniel, Principal at Rapid Valley Elementary says, "We really wanted the little kids to be part of this -- even if their siblings weren't a senior to know there's an end in mind for school and know it's something to celebrate. It's not a small accomplishment."
Garrett Buckingham, graduating Central senior says, "It gives them an idea of what's to come for their futures and that what they're doing right now is important."
Some of the graduates said today's walk was bittersweet, especially those who attended Rapid Valley Elementary in the past.
The class of 2017 will graduate May 28th at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
