RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The Hope Center will be handing out blankets and hot chocolate to those in need as part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Nov. 11-19.
Before then, the center is seeking donations of new and used blankets and adult sleeping bags. The center’s supply is low following the recent cold weather.
Blankets and sleeping bags can be dropped off at the HOPE Center, 615 Kansas City Street in Rapid City. Donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
The HOPE Center is a day center that provides a warm place for those in poverty and the homeless to go. The center offers resources such as a storage center, free laundry and life-skills classes to help reduce the impact of poverty.
