Rapid City, S.D. (KEVN) Despite the snow and the administrative offices being closed ...it was business as usual for the Rapid City Police Department.
The snow Friday morning had road conditions looking a little dangerous but the Rapid City Police Department says the call volume is down for traffic accidents.
The response times for the department remained quick and a Sergeant on duty Friday says things Fridayday were relatively quiet.
Sergeant Christian Sigel " Generally when it comes snow days, the traffic is kind of our major concern but the call volume is semi-slow but when the road conditions are deteriorating, it creates more accidents. Fortunately for this snowstorm, the roads have been fairly decent."
Sergeant Sigel wants to remind folks that when roads conditions do decrease to remember to increase the time you need to stop and drive slow.
