Blues legend makes a stop in Rapid City

A living legend and one of the few remaining artists of the Delta Blues music genre is making a stop in the Black Hills.

Lou "Bud" Welch along with his manager Vencie Vernado drove up from Mississippi in their RV for a screening of the Documentary "Late Blossom Blues" The documentary looks at the life of Welch after he released his first album at the age of 82 years old.

Welch who has performed all over the world knows what keeps bringing him to the stage despite being in his senior years.

Lou "Bud" Welch, says "My favorite part is meeting all the people. Know that people are enjoying and listening and they tell me they enjoy my music. And I tell them thank you very much and they say when can they hear me again and they'll try to be there."

Welch will be putting on a performance Friday at the Performing Arts Center at 7

Welch says, " We want to see all the beautiful women and come out and enjoy Bud West and Vencie Varnado."
