The Black Hills Works Foundation's annual Recognition Gala
honored four people for their accomplishments and progress. Cindy Roan Eagle was one of those recipients. Despite her disability, she says that doesn't stop her from being a strong advocate for her native culture and change.
Cindy Roan Eagle, a recipient, says "I just think this is just awesome. really really think it's an awesome honor and I just can't think the Black Hills Works Foundation and everybody here that has supported me through out the years and through everything in my life, so i just think it is what it is. I guess God wanted me to have this."
Roan Eagle says her work won't stop here. She's excited to have purchased a guitar and is taking lessons.
