Black Hills State hosts Festival on the Green

To help enjoy the final days of the spring semester the Jacket Pack at Black Hills State University hosted a Festival on the Green.

The "Sting in the Spring" event hosted carnival like events including inflatable jousting and a "pie in the face" fundraiser for the Brittany Thompson memorial scholarship. Thompson was a former student of BHSU and a founding member of Jacket Pack before she passed away in January after a long battle with cancer.

While this was the second year of the event, it was known by another name for those who attended BHSU a quarter century ago.

Wyatt Osthus says,"This is actually our second year of restarting the event. It used to be called the first 100 and it was put on 20-30 years ago. Something they did every year in the spring and we brought it back last year."

Next week is the last full week of classes before finals begin for Yellow Jacket students.
