Black Hills State University gets into the holiday spirit with a Christmas concert

On Sunday Black Hills State University got into the holiday spirit with "A Christmas Carol Concert."

The Northern Hills Chamber Chorale and the BHSU Chamber Singers performed classic Christmas songs like "Holly and the Ivy," several Latin songs, and other holiday music.

John Daum has been singing for the Northern Hills Chamber Chorale for 12 years and says he is happy to spread some holiday cheer.

John Daum says, "Christmas music is probably my favorite. To be able to share it with other people and to get that kind of big sound out of a choir, so that's the part that's a lot of fun. But overall it's just the Christmas spirit, that period of time that is very attractive to musicians."

The concert was free, but audience members were able to give donations for music scholarships at the door.
