Black Hills Home Builders Association Home Show set for 45th annual event

Around this time of year, many of us are ready for warmer temperatures and the chance to get some work done either inside or outside the house.

If you're looking to get a head start and or some expert advice on potential projects, an event going on this weekend in Rapid City could help you out. The Black Hills Home Builders Association is holding their 45th Annual Home Show at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. There will be over 200 vendors with over 400 booths set up throughout the Civic Center. Admission is $5, with kids 12 and under free. You can also purchase a full weekend pass for $8.

Black Hills Home Builders Association President Dean Hedrick says, "We've got everybody here from landscapers, to roofing guys, to siding guys, we've got playhouses, we've got things for the kids, play castles, we've got "Do it Yourself" seminars all weekend long. You've got home builders here, insulators, drywallers, painters. Any sort of a new construction or remodel project you want to do in your home, inside or out, I bet you'll find somebody here this weekend that's able to help.

The Geometry and Construction class at Rapid City High School is the newest student chapter of the Black Hills Home Builders Association. The Caterpillar bed you see here was made by them, and will be raffled off at this year's event. Also, the C.E.O. of the National Association of Home Builders is in Rapid City Thursday night to speak with association members and kick off the 2018 Home Show.
