Black Hills Fox Business: New Hemp Boutique & place for pets

One store is the first of its kind to hit Rapid City, selling clothing and several other products made out of hemp,
in hopes of changing what people think of the plant.

Hemporium boutique is located on the east side of town in a new shopping center west of Menard's.
Their clothing is made out of hemp, bamboo, and virgin cottons. You can also find food, dietary supplements, and toys on their shelves, and the owner says the goal is to let people know the uses they can get out of the plant that has benefits such as protecting the skin and helping produce clothes that are long lasting.

Leonard Vandermate says, ""What we're trying to do is we're trying to educate and trying to bring these eco-type products that are not only economical but ecological too for the environment and we're bringing them to the Rapid City Area."

The owner says they're trying to break the stigma that's attached to hemp.
Their motto is to "Eat Live and Play ECO" and you can connect with them on Facebook at Hemporium Boutique U-S-A.

And one shop is in a new spot, grooming pets and letting them stay.

4 Paws Grooming has been in business for nearly 4 years now.
Their new space allows them to not only make dogs and cats look good,
but also gives dogs a place to stay and hang out when their owners are busy.
The owner says everyone is happy about the new location,
both her old customers and new ones.

Ashlee Schlatter, owner of 4-Paws, says "I think just offering daycare in general when you have grooming is going to make it more desirable for people because alot of people like to go do shopping and go to lunch and they got work and so it helps them where they're like I have to do this and then go pick up my dog and then go back out so here they can just say hey, i got some errands and stuff, i got work, can I leave my dog till this time?"

4 Paws Grooming and Daycare is open Monday through Friday 8 A.M. to 2 P.M.
and Saturday 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. To schedule for services, you can call 605-791-3995.
