This first one is more than just a business, it's an addition to the South Dakota beer culture.
We are talking about the new Spearfish Brewing Company. It is an American-style craft brewery in the heart of downtown Spearfish serving up the American spectrum of ales and also a wide variety of American lagers. Their menu also includes cold brew coffee by nitro tap and their unique non-alcoholic craft sparkling waters. How do they do it? With brand new brand equipment composed of two 20 barrel horizontal tanks which management says allow them to make a good tasting product.
Jon Marek, general manager at Spearfish Brewing Company, says "the vision is to focus on clean, drinkable beer and an emphasis on lagering and lagers. It's a pretty unique equipment have we have set up in our brewery for a ten barrel brew house."
Spearfish Brewing Company plans to bring pub-style food to its menu in April. Management says the brew house and the space at large was built from the ground up, all to create a location that will be a landmark for decades to come and be a part of the community's growth.
There is a new hotel opening its doors in town and we were able to go in and get a sneak peek before it happens.
The new Staybridge Suites near Rushmore Crossing is getting ready to provide their guests with what they call the most premiere extended stay experience in South Dakota. Their staff has been in the building for two months who happen to be the same faces guests will see when the hotel opens. The all-suite hotel features 102 units, a pool and hot tub, and a 24-hour complimentary laundry room available to extended stay guests. Extended stays will include a plentiful breakfast as well as a social three days a week for two hours offering food and drinks. Management says the goal is to get people in and keep them coming back.
Now Staybridge will officially open its doors tomorrow and booking beginning March 1st will go live later Tuesday afternoon.
