After almost 28 years of operation, the owner of Dakota Party is ready for a change of scenery.
The popular Rapid City party supplier is moving to Rushmore Crossing to hopefully gain fresh clientele while keeping the support of their past customers.
Jack Wellman, owner, says, "Just time to move and a higher retail traffic area is what we're hoping for in the future. Alot of the customers will move over with us and we'll gain new ones on the other side of town."
and he also says that the big move comes just in time for a special holiday season.
"Just in time for Halloween, our busy season," Wellman said.
Dakota Party is scheduled to close on Sept. 3 and will open back up right next to the Sam's Club in Rushmore Crossing on Friday, Sept. 8
You may have seen one car insurance agency in the Civic Center parking lot. That is because they're making hail damage claims easier for their customers.
American Family Insurance set up their business to be more accessible to customers after an influx of hail damage in the area. Administrators say with the few thousand claims that have come in recently, this makes the company even more prepared to handle the incidents that could potentially be rolling in.
Bryan Lang, Catastrophe Operations Administrator, says "Anytime there is a storm where there is such a large volume of claims, it's difficult for staff to address them in a timely manner. American family makes it very personal and we take it seriously that we want to help our customers out. We have to protect their dreams as we promised them when they bought their policy with us. It's [the drive-in] the fastest way to see people and get their claims handled, their checks in their hands that same day. American Family will be here as long as it takes to get them back the pre-loss condition.
Lang encourages people to call 1-800-MYAMFAM or contact their agent's office to file a claim.
