There are multiple events going on around the Black Hills for Veterans Day, and American Legion Post 22 is one organization that puts in the time to make sure all of those who have served will be recognized for it.

Veterans Day has been a national holiday since 1938, and it is recognized every November 11th. Veteran and American Legion Post 22 Commander Duane Fink describes the importance of Veterans Day to him and also says the Legion is set for a big Veterans Day Saturday.

Post 22 American Legion Commander Duane Fink says, " It's just a day of recognition for what the veterans have done for the country, giving us our First and Second Amendment Rights. We'll be involved in the parade downtown tomorrow morning, and then we are hosting a veterans dinner tomorrow between 4 and 6 p.m. It'll be open to all veterans and of course Post members as well.

The public is also invited to the dinner. The cost is $5 per person. Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and dessert made by the American Legion Auxiliary will be served.
