Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announces 2018 nominees

CLEVELAND (KEVN TV) - Nineteen artists make up the 2018 induction ballot for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

Of the 19, nine are appearing on the ballot for the first time and two of those groups are newly eligible this year, according to the hall of fame.

They are:

Bon Jovi – nominated twice

Kate Bush – first nomination

The Cars – nominated three times

Depeche Mode – nominated twice

Dire Straits – first nomination

Eurythmics – first nomination

The J. Geils Band – nominated five times

Judas Priest – first nomination

LL Cool J – nominated four times

MC5 – nominated three times

The Meters – nominated four times

The Moody Blues – first nomination

Radiohead – first nomination

Rage Against the Machine – first nomination

Rufus Featuring Chaka Khan – second nomination

Nina Simone – first nomination

Sister Rosetta Tharpe – first nomination

Link Wray – second nomination

The Zombies – third nomination

Now through Dec. 5, music fans can cast votes for their favorite nominees.

The top five artists, as selected by the public, will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2018 inductees.

Fans will need to login with a Facebook account or email to vote. Voting is capped at one ballot per day.
