Chief Meteorologist Taylor Nicolaisen has been forecasting Black Hills wind and snow since 2000.
Taylor grew up in Mitchell, SD and enjoyed annual camping and fishing trips to the Black Hills. This lead directly to spending two years studying atmospheric physics at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology before finishing up with a bachelor of science in meteorology from Iowa State University.
He first wrangled Black Hills weather at the Rapid City NBC affiliate and joined Black Hills FOX News in early 2012. This country is full of great places, but Taylor says he is proud to forecast for one of the greatest every weekday at six and nine.
When he's not predicting drastic temperature swings, Taylor spends as much time as possible in the beautiful Black Hills skiing, camping, and swimming with his beautiful wife and young daughter. What good is living in the world's most beautiful location if you can't share it with someone you love!
