New Paradigms in Mental Health Conference

Manlove Psychiatric Group and Black Hills Works are putting on a conference March 23, 2018 at the Journey Museum in Rapid City called “New Paradigms in Mental Healthcare”. The tentative schedule is below. In the evening we are hosting a Public Political forum on Mental Healthcare in Western South Dakota.

The forum will be divided into three 30 minute segments:
1. Each of the six candidates will be given 5 minutes to identify what they see as the most significant mental healthcare problem facing western South Dakota and a plan for addressing it.
2. The candidates will have the opportunity to ask clarifying questions of each other regarding the problems they see and their solutions for the problems.
3. The audience will ask questions of the candidates to clarify the issues and plans for addressing them further.

The conference schedule is as follows:

7:30-8:00am- Breakfast
8:00- 10:00am (with a 15 min break around 9:00am)- Jay Lombard DO
10:00-10:30am- Break
10:30am-12:30pm (with a 15 min break around 11:30am)- Jeff Lewine Ph.D.
12:30-1:30pm Lunch
1:30-3:30pm(with a 15 min break around 2:30pm)- Rustin Berlow MD
4:00-6:00pm (with a 15 min break around 5:00pm)- Steve Manlove MD
6:00-6:30pm Light dinner
6:30-8:00pm Public Political Forum on Mental Healthcare in Western South Dakota

Lego Contest

The Lead Deadwood Arts Center will be sponsoring its FREE "LEGO Contest" on Friday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Lead Deadwood High School, 320 S. Main in Lead. Participants should create a LEGO sculpture at home and enter it in the contest. Judging will be based on creativity and originality, so the less LEGO kit parts used, the better. Grade categories will be Pre-K, 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7 & 8, and high school and up. Awards will be given for the top three in each category. There is no pre-registration required, just arrive at 6:30 with your entry. The event is open to all and will be held in conjunction with the S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) Fair at Lead Deadwood High School.
