I am deeply concerned about the economy. What people are not realizing is this is just the beginning. When you run a wreckless administration that spends so much that even our great grandchildren will be paying fo it, What do you expect? I believe that the solution is to elect an administration that runs a balanced budget and focuses some effort on the economy of our country. Unfortunately for the republicans, they have a horrible track record in this department. It is too bad that people loyal to there party don't take the initiative to understand that they are being sold out to the ultra rich elitists, and ALL blue collar people are suffering for it. Hopefully someday someone will be elected that isn't bought and paid for but instead has some ethics and a morale compass that can be respected instead of questioned.

part of the problem is immigration jobs open up the forgiener's take them that's only a small part, by the way I don't think we need to fill our jail's with immigration cop's cause they shot somebody, they did their job pretty soon we'll have jail over crowding problem

The main problem with our economy is the extreme rise in oil prices. This has caused the prices of everything to double in prices, as has the price of gas. What can be done is for congress to put a ceiling of $2.00 per gallon on gas. That is the only thing that will stabilize the economy!

Probably everything anyone writes in this "tell it to Fox" blog will be correct. You can't narrow down the economic woes of the USA in one simple conclusion. Personally, I believe the major factors are: NAFTA (needs to be redrafted), the wars, (need to be funded by the oil magnates/countries who we are protecting.) Our entire foreign policy needs to be revamped, giving goods and money to countries has to stop. We have to concentrate on the USA. The economy can't be blamed on any one thing or person, as some of you rip into the President, remember, the Dems have a majority in the house and Senate and can overrule anything Pres. Bush either institutes or vetoes. My final thought on why the economy is struggling is Greed. People jumping on board the oil stocks to fill there wallets, shooting the barrel prices through the roof, which in turn drives up gas, making everything more expensive.

I'm not worried about our economy as it has been proven to be extremely resilient and adaptable. I am worried about the lack of sound spending/saving habits of our younger generations and the way developers, retailers and financial institutions are taking advantage of it. Everyone is quick to offer credit. Products don't have a price marked on them any more just how much the payment is. That's insane! People and our government simply can not continue to live above their means. We need to ensure that lenders are required to make certain that borrowers have sufficient downpayments and have verifiable incomes that permit them to repay loans before making them. Then we need to make people and businesses responsible for their financial decisions. Oil prices, stock prices and food prices are all controlled by the checks and balances inheritant to our supply and demand economy. If the price is too high, don't buy it. If you have to buy (food & gasoline) then change your habits and don't buy as much of it. Learn to conserve. Pay cash. It's that simple. When the demand drops the supply will increase and the price will eventually drop. Remember, you determine the price, nobody else.
