Patrols up for Halloween
Monday, 31 October 2011 11:49

It's Halloween, and that means that thousands of trick-or-treaters will be hitting Rapid City streets.

And the Rapid City Police Department is advising motorists and pedestrians to be especially cautious of each other. They also say they'll be increasing patrols this evening to be on the lookout for suspicious activity. They say they've responded to incidents involving vandalism around Halloween in previous years.

RCPD Sergeant Brian Blenner says, "In previous years when we get the older kids trick or treating that might not be with their parents, sometimes they might do a little vandalism. It is very little but we have had some rise during Halloween."

He says they're going to be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers as well.
