Wanted: Lucky ducks for Great Black Hills Duck Race
Friday, 27 July 2012 15:58
"Splish, Splash, Duck, Dash" is the theme for the 23rd Annual Great Black Hills Duck Race taking place this Sunday.

Eighteen-thousand ducks will race down Rapid Creek all to benefit the Children's Miracle Network in the Black Hills. Activities begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday with a kid's carnival at Memorial Park. The Drop of the Flock will be at 2 p.m. near the West Main McDonald's.

Children's Miracle Network Project Coordinator Betty Quasney says, "This is such a fun family event. The whole entire family comes out and they enjoy the day and they make it a big day. And it's really fun to watch those ducks dump over the bridge. If you've never seen that before you really need to come at 2 p.m. and watch them dump."

Ducks will still be available for purchase at $5 dollars a duck on Sunday morning at the West Main McDonalds. More than $29,000 in prizes will be awarded to the first 42 ducks to cross the finish line.
