SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) _ Gov. Dennis Daugaard is asking
employers to consider putting veterans at the top of their
``to-hire'' lists as jobs are filled in November.
The Argus Leader reports that Daugaard is encouraging South Dakota business leaders, public
officials and leaders of civic and fraternal organizations that
have employment opportunities to hire veterans for the posts.
Veterans' employment representatives are located in 19
Department of Labor and Regulation offices in the state. They give
employment services that help veterans transition to the civilian
work force.
The state's DLR website says veterans receive priority in state
training programs.
