Tobias Walker is charged with second degree rape, which alone carries a maximum penalty of 50 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. But prosecutors say Walker has a history of five felony convictions, and if he's found to be a habitual offender, his sentence could increase to life in prison. A Summerset man arrested in Indiana two weeks ago for promoting prostitution was due to appear in front of a judge in Pennington County today on similar charges. Jeramy Caron is charged with three counts of pimping and two counts of hiring for sexual activity in Rapid City. Caron did not show up for his court appearance today, and Judge Jeff Davis issued a bench warrant for Caron's arrest. -Darren Leeds |
