Thune promotes drilling by land and sea

If you're spending a few more pennies at the pump, you may have to get used to it. Sen. John Thune says he expects gas prices to continue to rise unless lawmakers can begin approving more domestic energy projects.

Thune says these gas prices could be disastrous for summer tourism, which is why he says the country needs to move forward with projects such as the Keystone XL pipeline.

Thune says, "As long as we continue not to develop domestic resources of energy here in this country, you're going to continue to see these prices, these price spikes that we're going to see and have already seen this year."

Thune says in addition to Keystone, lawmakers need to look at resources off-shore in the Gulf and in Alaska, something many environmentalists continue to lobby against.
