| Public Works director Brad Lawrence tells KCCR radio that his five-minute testimony before U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee's Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment on Wednesday will include observations on how the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers interacted with small town local governments during the flooding. Lawrence sent a series of emails to Washington, D.C.-based American Water Works Association in February warning that higher than normal snowpack amounts would lead to flooding. Lawrence says he thinks he may be the only South Dakota official testifying at the hearing. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
