After more than a week, some tired little merry-go-round horses are getting a well-deserved rest. The Central States Fair ended Sunday. The mid-way rides are being taken apart, the hotdog stands are being torn down, and the teddy bears and stuffed animals are being packed up. Fair General Manager Ron Jeffries said earlier this week he thought ticket sales were doing well. There were certainly more vendors than ever before; 143 this year compared 118 last year. And Black Hills Power contributed an important new sponsorship to the fair, paying for much of the concert series, and helping to upgrade the fairground's electrical grid.
