- The countdown is on for the annual Festival of Lights Parade in Rapid City, which is expected to draw thousands of people to the downtown area Saturday night.
What began lighting up the streets 18 years ago has continued as a holiday tradition, kicking off the Christmas countdown.
This year, the parade has more than 80 entries.
- Being homeless is hard enough; being homeless during the holidays is especially difficult.
But the Cornerstone Rescue Mission is working to bring joy to the hundreds of homeless in Rapid City.
- The cooking began early Tuesday morning, as the local Knights of Columbus prepared to serve as many as 1,000 people this Thanksgiving Day.
For 33 years now, the Knights have invited anyone and everyone to sit down at their tables for a warm holiday meal.
With pounds and pounds of food to be served, the group was heating up the kitchen bright and early Thursday morning.
