Black Hills FOX reporter McKenzie Nelson sat down with one Rapid City Police captain to hear how local officers prepare for the unexpected.

Rapid City residents react to verdict in disorderly conduct case

Updated: 09/01/2015 - The verdict is in and Magistrate Court Judge Eric Strawn has found Trace O'Connell not guilty of disorderly conduct for incidents alleged to have occurred at a Rapid City Rush hockey game in January. The Philip man was accused of harassing a group of Native students from American Horse School in Allen and pouring beer on them. He stood trial on the misdemeanor charge in July.

CASA Program in need of volunteers

Updated: 09/01/2015 - The CASA Program held an information night Tuesday evening to give people the chance to learn more about what it takes to represent abused and neglected children in our community. Executive Director Scott Bader says right now there are more than 200 children on the waiting list for a CASA volunteer.
