Pennington County Sheriff's deputies have since recovered the dog's body, and animal control workers will look to see if the dog has any kind of micro-chip or other form of identification that could lead them back to an owner.  Deputies say they're trying to determine if this is a case of animal cruelty, or if the animal had simply died and its owners didn't know how to dispose of it.
