Saturday's weather also had many residents with green thumbs coming down with spring fever. That's exactly what took place at the Pennington County Master Gardeners seminar. Over one hundred gardener's from all over the state came to Rapid City to hear from experts on utilizing garden space and picking the right flowers for your location.

Author and garden expert Melinda Myers was there to give attendees some pointers. She tells us why the time to start planning your summer garden is now.

Myers says, "Now's the time to plan because if we plan first we're going to spend out money wisely because I call going to the garden center in the spring like going to the grocery store hungry. We are dying to get out in the garden so we see this special or this new plant. We buy things we don't have room for."

You can catch Myers' segment "Garden Moment" weekdays throughout the spring and summer seasons on Black Hills FOX News at 9.
