Wall topples Philip boys
Monday, 04 February 2013 15:41
District 14B is stacked this boys' basketball season.  The Philip Scotties is among the three teams in the district with 10 or more wins and hit the road Monday to take on the 8-and-7 Wall Eagles.  Former Athlete of the Week Lane Hustead and the Eagles were ahead by at the half.-----

Third quarter, Hustead drives the lane and drops it off to Clancy Lytle who goes off the glass to extend the lead to eleven.-----  Philip comes right back as Tate DeJong muscles his way into the lane and gets the shooters roll.-----  Moments later Philip's Nelson Holman comes up with the steal off of the inbounds pass. Holman gets it ahead to Tristen Rush who finishes strong and the lead is down to six.-----  Two possessions later Holman flashes the fast hands again as he takes it away from Hustead. Nelson can't finish but there's Rush again and the lead is down to four.-----  Later in the quarter the Eagles snap the scoring drought as Lylt is left alone behind the three point circle and he makes the Scotties pay. Wall would hold on to win the game 79 to 66.
