Petting zoo a popular stop at Stock Show

The Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo isn't just for cowboys and ranchers, it's a learning opportunity for children as well. The petting zoo at the Stock Show is sponsored by the District Five Future Farmers of America.

On Wednesday 15 high school students from the Bison FFA volunteered their time to share their knowledge with younger kids.

The petting zoo gives young children a chance to be exposed to livestock in a realistic setting. All of the animals were donated from a few local producers in the area. There are some piglets, lambs, sheep, chickens, ponies and even a llama.

Each day a different FFA chapter from District Five will volunteer to work the petting zoo.
