A concession agreement with the City of Rapid City and Canyon Lake Chophouse regarding food and beverage at Meadowbrook Golf Course is one step closer to finalization after the city's Public Works Committee decided to approve the lease, all to help generate revenue for the city. The Parks and Recreation Director Jeff Biegler (BIG-LER) says the city took over the food and beverage concession last season after an agreement ended with a private company that owned the concession several years ago.Biegler says the city was operating in a deficit last year because of the concessions ... but with Canyon Lake Chophouse taking over ... he says that will be a change that'll generate revenue for the city.Parks and Recreation Director Jeff Biegler says, "This is an improvement for the city because it's going to provide a high quality food and beverage to the, not only the golfing community, but to the community, because this will be open to the public, this facility that Meadowbrook Bar and Grill, so it's a beneficial arrangement between the city and the Chophouse. The city's going to be getting revenue, the public is going to be getting a great quality food service."The Public Works Committee approved the agreement 3-to-1 ... the item will now go before the full Rapid City Council. On tomorrow's Legal and Finance Committee Agenda ... members are set to discuss a letter the city received objecting the council starting off their meetings with an invocation. We will have an update on that issue tomorrow on Black Hills FOX News at Six and Nine.
