It's something we don't think about much.  But the world would be a completely different place without it.  The history of the past century is a record of constant improvements in lighting from candles and lanterns, to oil lamps, to gas lights, to electric lights.

And since the advent of electricity, there has been a regular improvement in the sort of bulbs we use from tungsten, to fluorescent, to LED.At the Journey Museum Sunday, there was a display of the constantly improving nature of lighting.

Kristi Thielen says, "We like the idea of taking a look at ordinary things that have an extraordinary impact on your life like lighting. Lighting is one of those things we all take for granted in its wide variety."

The exhibit at the Journey Museum is called "Turn on the Light" and is sponsored by Black Hills Power.
