On Friday night the Rush picked up right where they left off last year by grabbing a 4 to 3 overtime win over the league's top team, the Allen Americans.Rapid City got two goals apiece from Scott Wray and Damien Surma and Danny Bottachio stopped 28 of 31 shots on goal.Saturday night was a little different story. The Rush went into Fort Worth to battle the hottest team in the league and they came away a 3 to 2 loser. Once again the offense struggled to put the puck in the back of the net. After the two game split the current CHL standings look like this. Allen is sliding but they still sit in first place for now. Wichita got another win over Denver today, the Thunder are with two points of the Americans.Forth Worth, Bloomington and Missouri round out the top five. The bottom half of the league looks like this. The Cutthroats have lost all semblance of what made them a title contender early in the season. But they're clinging to the sixth position. The Rush are sitting in seventh place, three points behind Denver.Arizona, Quad City, and Tulsa remain the league's bottom feeders.Rapid City's mammoth road trip continues this week. The boys will head to Wichita on Tuesday for a one game tilt with the Thunder. That game will start at 7:05.Friday night the Rush are back in Allen Texas for another game with the Americans. That game will start 7:30.Saturday night the Rush are back in Fort Worth going nose to nose with the Brahmas. That game will start at 7:05. Cory Coppock |
