Habitat for Humanity volunteers celebrate MLK Day by giving back
Monday, 21 January 2013 15:29
Black Hills Area Habitat for Humanity volunteers were honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Junior's legacy by giving their time to help others. A handful of volunteers were on site at a Habitat rehab-house located on East Idaho Street. Monday volunteers focused on painting, but Saturday they were doing lighting and woodwork.

Larry Deibert, a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, says it's a great feeling being able to help others, especially on Martin Luther King, Junior Day.

Deibert says, "Giving back. Martin Luther King spoke very much about working together and that's what we're doing. Not just today but throughout the year and that's what his desire was as well."

Deibert says they still have some lighting and plumbing work to finish but they expect to be finished by the end of January. He says the house dedication will be around mid March.
