Coleen Schmidt says, "It's all a learning process. We're brand new and I think COMPASS has a lot to offer to the community, so I'm hoping that now our work sessions are going to be open that everything will calm down and we can be the professional organization that we had hoped to be." Schmidt is one of the private citizen members of the committee. She says work sessions are more informal than meetings and sometimes they have to discuss items that could be confidential. But Schmidt says she doesn't mind the open sessions and meetings as long as they have the ability to have portions of the meeting closed to the public when things are more private in nature, and they do have that ability. -Tessa Thomas |
