Jeffries says, "We've got a lot of new events this year at the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo. The Jim Thompson Cowboy Gathering will be one of the first events that will take place on Friday. We've got a South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming Ag Secretaries meeting for a round table. We've got leather workshops the first weekend."

The official opening of the 2013 Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo is Friday, January 25th.It runs until February 3rd.Once again this year, Stock Show events will be split between the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center and the Events Center at the Central States Fairgrounds.
