We're only one minute and thirty seconds into the period when John Scott-Dickson takes the pass from Trevor Kell and buries the back hand...just like that it's 1-0 Mavs.  Minutes later, these two teams have one thing in common, they each boast one of the best heavy weights in the league. Justin Sawyer goes toe to toe with Riley Emerson. Sawyer gets the best of Emerson here but he would be sent to the penalty box for cross checking and fighting but the Rush managed to kill the penalty to keep it a 1-0 game.Later in the period the Rush have a golden opportunity, Michael Couch fires a shot on goal but Mattheu Corbeil shuts it down.Moments later Jordan Behler unleashes a blast that's turned aside, Scott Brannon can't put the rebound home and it remains 1-0 Missouri.The Mavs trying to pile on as Podge Turnbull dances around two defenders and gets the shot off but Tim Boron says no way.The Rush are dead last in goals scored in the CHL this season. Scott Wray drops an absolute bomb on Corbeil but his shot is turned aside.
