Anglers voice opinions to improve fish stocking

South Dakota anglers had a chance to cast their opinions about fishing throughout the Black Hills.Thursday, the Outdoor Campus West hosted an open house, bringing together members of the state Game, Fish and Parks Department with local anglers.

The goal is to see where improvements need to be made when it comes to issues such as stocking.  Regional Fisheries Program Manager Gene Galinat says, "We feel like we do work for the anglers of South Dakota, so we want to make sure we're managing our waters towards what they want to do. There's no sense in stocking bass in a lake if nobody's going to fish bass. So we want to know how they feel about it, let them kind of direct us which way to go and we'll take it from there."  Organizers say this is a great way to get everyone together and get a broad range of feedback from people who take advantage of South Dakota waters.
