Local gun shop reacts to proposed gun control legislation

At First Stop Gun, owners say they've seen a giant upturn in business since the gun control debate has come to light. Owner Mark Blote says Wednesday's executive actions won't affect his business for the most part,

but he is concerned about some of the legislation the Obama administration intends to push through Congress.

He says one of his major concerns lies in a potential ban on assault rifles.

Blote says, "You know, that didn't do any good the first time they did it in 1994 and it won't do any good again. It's a foolish idea that has no basis in actually solving any sort of problem."

Now, it seems local gun stores aren't the only ones staying busy during the gun control debate. The Pennington County Sheriff's Office says in the days following the Sandy Hook tragedy, they've been swamped by folks looking to file for concealed carry permits.
