The item was put on the agenda by committee chairperson Amanda Scott. Amanda Scott says, "the report was given to the city council in executive session, which is what our code of conduct required. And at this point, there has been so much discussion and so much guessing that I believe we should just go ahead and release the report." Steve Laurenti says, "I do support releasing this investigation. I am concerned that, unfortunately because it did go to executive session, that the reason we all unanimously came out of that executive session saying there was nothing to act on and there was nothing to move forward with is important. And I think the taxpayers will see it if the investigation is released." The Legal and Finance Committee voted 4-to-0, with Alderwoman Charity Doyle abstaining, to send the issue to the full city council next week. The council will make the final decision. -Jack Caudill |
