Seventeen-year old Rachel Scott was among those killed at Columbine High School in 1999, but to this day her message of kindness and compassion is still being heard worldwide. Rachel's Challenge is an organization that was started by Rachel's father and stepmother with a mission of combating bullying by creating an environment of kindness and compassion.

A presenter from the organization spoke to Sturgis Williams Middle School students Tuesday and says he hopes they take the message seriously.

Brandl says, "If they can grasp the fact that they have that power to impact other people. Their words mean things, their actions impact other people, and that they have the power to create an environment that creates an environment of kindness and compassion, which is what Rachel's chain reaction was after."
