Brandl says, "A lot of what we speak about in the schools we learned through her diary and through her essay she wrote. Her essay was titled, My Ethics, My Code of Life, and in it she challenges her readers to start a chain reaction of kindness and compassion and throughout all her writing she talks about how she felt people should treat each other and the fact that a little act of kindness, you have no idea the chain reaction it might start and how far it might go ultimately saving people's lives and impacting the world."

Rachel Scott once said quote "These hands belong to Rachel Joy Scott and will someday touch millions of people's hearts."

So far her words of kindness and compassion for others have been heard by more than 18-million people worldwide. Tuesday hundreds were added to that list as students from Sturgis heard her message.

Brandl says, "If they can grasp the fact that they have that power to impact other people. Their words mean things, their actions impact other people and that they have the power to create an environment that creates an environment of kindness and compassion which is what Rachel's chain reaction was after."

Rachel has been gone for more than 10 years now, but that hasn't stopped her from reaching the hearts of millions.

Brandl says, "A couple of the coolest things that I hear are when people say, 'Rachel was here today. Rachel was in our school today. Having the impact she had at her school.' The other thing is people come up and they say, 'I really needed to hear that today. Thank you for coming.' It's great to hear and seeing all the names of people signing the banner and they accept Rachel's Challenge. It's just a step, as Rachel said, 'You never know how far a little act can go.' And those are small acts that we hope to continue to spread."

The Scott family and their supporters will continue to spread her words to the world, hoping to inspire those who hear them to make it better.
