Gold Diggers fall to STM

With only one blemish to this year's record, and that to the top-ranked team in the state, the Saint Thomas More Cavaliers appear bent on a return trip to the State 'A' boys' basketball tournament. Tuesday night, Coach Dave Hollenbeck and company hit the court, looking to rack up another win over their conference rivals from Lead-Deadwood. The Cavaliers are up by nine when we pick this game up in the second quarter.

The Gold Diggers weren't going away quietly however, Jackson Percy connects from three point range to cut the lead to six.

The Cavaliers respond with either some creative play calling or good fortune. Caden Skinner throws up the air-ball but Aiden Goetzinger is there for the easy lay in. St. Thomas More extends the lead.

Later in the quarter Lead-Deadwood's Joel Fish creates some space with that big body and sinks the easy lay in.

Then, Skinner and Goetzinger hook up one more time, this time Aiden scores easily off the lob pass and the Cavs lead is up to 12.

Next time down the floor St. Thomas More goes down low to Jacob Henderson. Henderson realizes he has the smaller Percy on him and he goes to work. The jumper gives the Cavs a fifteen point lead.

Final Score 70 to 42.
