Harlem Globetrotters take to the court in Rapid City
Thursday, 03 January 2013 16:32
The famed Harlem Globetrotters were back in Rapid City Thursday night and took to the court to entertain basketball fans in the Black Hills at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The Globetrotters have been entertaining audiences with their basketball skills since 1926. Now, more than 85 years and 20,000 games later, the team has become one of the most recognizable sports teams in the world.

Globetrotter Dizzy Grant says it takes a great basketball player with a good character to be a part of the team. He's been a part of the Globetrotters for seven years and says he will always have a favorite part.

Dizzy says, "Just having the opportunity to travel the world and have a positive impact on people's lives. There's not too many professions in the world where, you know, you can meet somebody for an hour and they'll never forget you for the rest of your life, so that's something I take pride in and I definitely enjoy being a Harlem Globetrotter."

Our own Cory Coppock got to play against the team Thursday night.
